Thanks a lot for your purchasing this product.

There have been many kinds of routine called “haunted deck”, in which a deck cut itself and revealing, as if something like a ghost might have been manipulating it.

Most of them were executed with the help of thread, and none the moving of the deck really stood out. Of course I love this effect very much. But I’ve been having in my mind that someday I’d like to devise more outrageous “Haunted Deck”.

And finally I did it!

This is such a beautiful haunted deck that no one has ever seen, relating to not only the moving but the procedure.

I hope you will enjoy it, and have the spectators astonished with the work by the genuine ghost of “dead man”, to your heart’s content.

Furthermore I expect you would be surprised with their incredible reaction!

Effect:

Take out the deck and spread it with their faces outwards and inwards to show it all.

Spread the cards face down again, and invite someone to draw a card and ask him to return it after memorized.

Then cut and shuffle to mix them up completely.

Square the deck and tell the spectators to watch it.

Now a card starts to stand up!

“It must be a chosen card…..”

No!!!!

So you point out another card in front of it and ask him to take it.

What on earth?

It is his card!

Close the deck and square and spread it again face up and down.

Surely there are nothing like a thread. There are no tricks.

You can perform it repeatedly.

You don’t need to ware long sleeves to cover something related with this trick.

It really is an incredible effect.

+ No thread, nor magnet.

+ With only one deck.

+ You can use any designed deck as you like, depending on the story and the surrounding of your performance.

Tips:

As you can figure out from this title, I have a special fascinating story to narrate this routine.　It’s an excellent under-plot to overturn the spectator’s expectation that the sit-up card would be his selected card. I believe this story will bring the routine to the highest climax.

So if you like it, you can make use of it.

One more thing, I’ll recommend you to start this routine after setting the Gimmick to the King of Spade.

DEAD MAN AWAKING：Story

“It’s a story at a certain Kingdom. The land was so peaceful, but the King was awfully rigid”

Spread the deck face up and then turn to face down.

“This rigid King never forgave a feudatory when he did something wrong, no matter how faithful he was. The King clung to his belief that any trivial wrong-doing might ruin the Kingdom.”

“So some feudatories, who have devoted themselves to the King, were unhappy about it.

Meanwhile the King was aware of it and usually used to declare;

I shall never ever forgive the betrayer. Even after I come to dust, when he shows up in front of my grave, I shall wake from death and point out to tell he is a damned betrayer!”

“One day, the King was killed by a feudatory who was filled with dissatisfaction against the King. At that time no one was around them and nobody knew who killed the King. In fact there were 51 feudatories.”

Have a spectator select a card among the 51cards and memorize it.

“that card is the Killer…

Then the Kingdom is left in confusion. As the official successor has not been determined yet, it was inevitable to nominate one of the feudatories for the successor as soon as possible. But in fact there was a strong possibility that someone among the feudatories would be a criminal, so it was very hard to determine the successor until the murderer was found. Under these circumstances the funeral was over and the date of the burial service has come.”

“All of 51 feudatories were present at the burial service. But still nobody knew who was murderer.”

Ask a spectator to return his selected card into the deck so as not to be seen.

After several cuts, square the deck, and take it with the right hand.

Now start to prepare the deck for sitting up.

“As you might know, the coffin is buried east-west, with head to the west.

Where is the west?”

When you decided the direction of the west after exchanging some words with the spectators, turn the deck towards that direction.

“The burial service is carried out solemnly, and 51 feudatories kneeled down at the end… By the way, do you remember what the King declared?”

After repeating what the King declared, have the spectators focus on the deck and start the deck to sit up.

“Now the dead man, the King, is awaking. And he, pointing at one of feudatories in front of the King, started to rumble out.

‘It is this man that killed me!’

Then have the spectators to confirm the sitting-up card is the King and the front card is the selected card.
